The band, still fronted by Sonja Kristina, selected the tracks after multi-track recording the entire first leg of its Live Atmosphere World Tour. Sonja Kristina elaborated by saying they did this “to capture the invention and interplay of these virtuoso musicians, the 21st century Curved Air….” The album was produced by Marvin Ayres and showcases both new and original members of the band.

The band took the bold move of self-financing and self-releasing the album in order to retain complete creative control of “Live Atmosphere”, which is exclusively available NOW from the band’s webstore and at their shows. The CD’s attractive digi-pack packaging also features a bonus DVD, filmed by Jane East, which shows the band backstage and live in concert.

“Live Atmosphere” includes many of the key recordings from the band’s repertoire, including the hits “It Happened Today” and “Backstreet Luv” as well as fan favourites such as “Propositions”, “Phantasmagoria” and “Stretch”.

Thirty years after its eponymous debut album, ASIA ascended to the top of the Billboard Top 100 chart (where the album remained No.1 for 9 consecutive weeks). The legendary British classic rock band returns with a new studio album, a 30th Anniversary edition of their debut album, 2 DVDs, and a world tour that includes UK, Europe, Japan and America.

The new album, produced by Mike Paxman, has been hailed as ASIA’s best album since its classic early 80s releases. The album will be released on CD, collector’s edition CD/DVD (featuring new music videos and behind the scenes footage), and on a limited edition vinyl.

The first single taken from the highly anticipated new album is entitled “Face On The Bridge”, released digitally worldwide on Monday May 14th.

In addition ASIA has also completed “Resonance”, a DVD concert film of the group’s 2010/2011 Omega World Tour, captured live in Switzerland which will be released subsequently.

To celebrate their 30th Anniversary, ASIA will release a collector’s edition box set based on their legendary 1982 eponymous debut album, supported by a myriad of ASIA releases in 2012.

The 30th anniversary edition of their debut album will feature 2 audio CDs (a re-mastered edition of the debut album, plus a CD of live rare tracks), an expansive historical booklet, a limited edition ASIA T-shirt, goodies from ASIA’s 1982 tour, plus a DVD of the new band documentary: ASIA – 30 Years On. A newly commissioned painting by Roger Dean updates the symbolic dragon and pearl from 1982 to 2012, the Year of The Water Dragon (in the Chinese calendar).

The result is the very first official Little Atlas Bootleg DVD. Performing songs from their last three albums, including rarely performed tracks from their acclaimed 2008 album “Hollow”, Little Atlas put on a spirited performance in front of an appreciative audience.

The band has decided to share their performance as a free download.

“We have never put out any official or even unofficial DVD of the band”, said Steve Katsikas, the band’s vocalist and keyboard player. “We thought that folks might enjoy seeing and hearing us, especially since we performed several songs for the first time live”.

Roy Strattman, the band’s guitarist continued, “Its not a commercially prepared DVD, hence the ‘bootleg’ qualifier…but it does capture a dimension of the band that many folks haven’t seen”.

Not only is the DVD a free download, but the band is encouraging folks to copy and share it.

The band is currently working on their 4th studio album for 10T Records, due out in early 2013.

Over a two year period Re Jasper recorded the two albums coupled together for this release. “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” was recorded in 1993 and “The Winter’s Tale” in 1994 at Broadoak Studios in Hampshire, England. To promote the releases the band started to tour Europe including playing support to Fish. Their crowning European moment was headlining The Aurora Borealis Festival in Tilburg, Holland during 1994.

Progressive Rock was their forte and as one reviewer said of “Midsummer”-“as the listener get’s more and more into Red Jasper’s world the more there is to discover” another said of “Winter’s Tale” “there is so much to hear that it takes a few listens to fully recognize the majesty of the music”.
